Address Change???

Ok, After several suggestions that I change my address name from JJcancerboy to something else, I am willing to consider it, however, I fear that some people whom I have already told about this address may not be able to find the new site. Despite this fear, I am willing to do it, but you guys have to chose the next name...so throw out some suggestions as a comment to this posting and then we will vote...
If you live in Ohio, please do not vote...also if you are poor, black, jewish or any combination and you live in Florida your vote will not count, sorry not that I am bitter.

JJ
My suggestion...peopleschampion

Don't change a thing. jjcancerboy is a name that follows a great tradition of adopting the very word that is used to repress/oppress people.

For Example:
* Af-Am adopting the 'N-word'.
* Homosexual population using 'fag'(among other derogatives) with each other.

I think using 'jjcancerboy' is one small way for you to have control over the disease. By playing with the word and concept, you erase at least some of the power that the word holds for you.

Thanks for your comment...it speaks directly of why I chose cancerboy in the first place. You hit the nail right on the head as they say. I must hear about the reunion...and about your first day of classes...it's today, right?

First day of classes is Tuesday. E-mail me your phone # again...I lost it. We'll chat this weekend sometime.

Hi JJ -- First Tyler thinks a change would be nice and then he gets all philosophical or something.?
I had a patient today, in dermatology, that happened to have leukemia. She came in to have a biopsy of her scalp. Something was going on with the skin on her head and it was turning brown. Her next stop was the U of M to have her bone marrow checked. Her hair was starting to grow in again nicely but she said it would be gone soon with the chemo. (It was only a 5 o'clock shadow.) I was tempted to give her your blog address but I didn't. I was just thinking you both might have something in common to talk about. If I see her again would you like me to give her the blog site?
I'm not expecting you to change your blog name but I will tell you that I am Lively Gran because that's who I want to be. It reminds me to continue to aspire to retaining a positive self. After spending about 3 months in the house, on bedrest, with lots of pain last summer, my image of myself was suffering. A stuck at home invalid was not who I wanted to be. I wanted to be the lively grandmother -- not the moving slow, barely getting around, unable to eat, unable to do anything kind of grandmother. I wanted to be healthy to see my grandchild. With the help of my family and friends I got better and I am definately the Lively Gran I wanted to be (but,with some unexpected backtracks here and there)... life ain't always what you expect.

So, JJcancerboy keep on fighting.
Your blog name gives you a control over your disease and works for you like my blog name works for me. It may be two different ideas but whatever works I say go for it.

jj - i think if you like it, you should keep it. if it makes us uncomfortable it is because your choice brings us into contact with all of the feelings that we don't like to be in touch with. you are giving us a chance to do that. be strong my friend. with love, bill

Although I do not agree with your begrudged, paranoid, leftist comments, I also do not agree with the freak who previously posted (V). But this is your blog and you can say what you like. I feel you should use whatever username you like. Your name is JJ, you have cancer, and you are a boy. I could think of no more appropriate name for yourself. Take care of yourself and let others take care of you also. Although it is a cliche, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am also giving blood this week in your name.
